Barrington Woods Trail Race

​​In consideration of being allowed to participate in the Barrington Woods Trail Race, organized by Barrington High School in Barrington, Rhode Island, I, the undersigned participant, or parent/legal guardian of a minor participant (if applicable), hereby acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions: Assumption of Risk: I understand that participating in a Trail 5K Race involves inherent risks, including but not limited to, risks of injury, illness, falls, collisions with objects or other participants, unpredictable terrain, and other potential hazards associated with trail running. I voluntarily assume all such risks and accept full responsibility for any injury or harm that may occur to me or my child during the Race. Health and Fitness: I represent and warrant that I am physically and mentally fit to participate in the Race and have not been advised otherwise by a medical professional. I understand that it is my responsibility to assess my own fitness level and consult a medical professional if I have any concerns or doubts regarding my health or ability to participate in the Race. Release and Waiver: In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Race, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release, discharge, and waive any and all claims, actions, causes of action, demands, liabilities, and damages of any kind that may arise now or in the future, whether known or unknown, against Barrington High School or the Town of Barrington, its affiliates, sponsors, officials, volunteers, and all other individuals associated with the Race (collectively referred to as the "Released Parties"), from any and all liability, whether arising from negligence, tort, contract, or any other theory of liability, for any injury, death, loss, damage, or expense that I or my child may suffer as a result of my participation in the Race. Publicity Release: I grant permission to Barrington High School and its affiliates to use my name, image, likeness, and any photographs, videos, or other recordings taken during the Race for promotional, marketing, and advertising purposes, without compensation or further approval. Compliance with Rules and Instructions: I agree to abide by all rules, regulations, instructions, and decisions of the Race Organizer and officials. I understand that failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification from the Race. Severability: If any provision of this waiver is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. Governing Law and Jurisdiction: This waiver shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Rhode Island, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising from this waiver shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Rhode Island.
